Backyard Vignette

Have you seen the latest Country Living?  The cover got me thinking.....and I came up with this.

Actually, I owe props to my friend Chris.  Last year she had an adorable scene set up on her front porch.

I may add ice skates and/or a pair of skis to the scene, after we get some snow, but for now I like it.

You might remember this sled; I blogged about it here.

I'm really excited about using it in this scene.
Everything else I found in my travels to Sally Ann's.

I've discovered I have an affinity for the old plaid Thermos brand thermoses.
It seems like every time I walk into Sally Ann's, one just happens to follow me home.
The black lunch box; that was a curbside find.....

I would also like to thank my friends, Angela and Joe, for donating the birch logs to the cause.  They had no idea what I was going to do with them.  After sending Angela an email asking where I could get some, I found them neatly stacked on my sidewalk the very next morning.  Thanks guys.

This scene is set up in a corner of my backyard; it's a great focal point as you enter my backyard.

I love seeing this every day.

It just makes me smile.

Thanks for stopping by.

  4. P.S. Actually, using WP as an offensive weapon against military targets is against the Chemical Weapons Convention and the Convention on Certain Chemical Weapons, not the Geneva Conventions per se - although the GC DO ban the use of incendiary weapons in civilian areas or against civilian targets. But this just a 'the more you know' quibble which I only know because I just wrote an article on war crimes in videogames.
